Hi Chris,
On March 27th 2010, you asked a pivotal question  “does America or the whole world HATE talking about religion?”.What an awesome question Son!

I had a question of my own I asked around age 8-10 years old which was:

“If a little boy in China, who never heard of Jesus died would me go to hell?”…I got a shallow answer by religious people who never took the time to answer a question like that…please ask me about this….

Since questions have power, decisions are made and philosophies shape lives…you deserve a real answer one that is lived out, so I began a process of doing that!

In 2010 when I moved to the chicken ranch , I had hit a personal bottom. I lost hope. Living in a shack with my physical situation at that time was hard. Our relationship was polite but strained, same with Laura and to some degree Michelle.

Like most broken families…..Things were not good from your perspective and much regret from mine.

You had been through allot. When you were separated from me in 1994 you experienced such trauma and you really didn’t know me.

You remember the day I just showed up at your house and brought you a bible and said that I loved you?…. I mean what are you going to bring your son for the first time you’ve see him in 8 years after he thinks you abandoned him?
Just a book about truth and love…
Just a we were building a new connection, I was on that hospital table with you saying goodbye to a father you had never known as a man.  Without a healthy identity, I been carelessness how I had treated my own fragile life. Imagine how it was for me looking at you that night in 2008, ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS TO RIP OUT THAT RESPIRATOR AND SCREAM that I loved you and your sisters and to not do what I had done with my life….

When you asked this question I didn’t want to “offend” you with the gospel and sure didn’t want to argue with you. I decided that the answer to this question would have to be lived out.

Years ago through a series of events I made a decision that allowing you and your two sisters adoption would at least give you some kind of a childhood. From your perspective I abandoned you. I lived in great regret for many years and even at this time, I could not see a way through human terms or strategies to restore what was lost….Plus I had no real world experience in how to accomplish that through a relationship with God in my own personal life. I would have to get a serious upgrade through life experience to accomplish a real and lasting connection, one that no one or nothing could break.

Believe me, I have surrounded myself with negative religious people who had no clear answers and who’s life shows a serious inability to connect with their own kids and “others in the world” (christianeeze escape from responsibility).

It’s not that churchly people have bad intentions, no it’s quite the opposite. More lives have been saved, more hope given, more families restored and the world changed for the better over the past 5500 years that negative consequences of us imperfect humans attempting to live out the coding of the bible that those whom have been hurt…simple logic and a brief look over history supports that.

This gospel message is vert offensive to us humans, it’s intended that way. Any attempt to soften it dilutes it’s powerful intent. Religion is the attempt to change the inner world through external actions…”doing good”, “being” moral all works of human effort to accomplish the 10 commandments, the discipline of Buddhism, the tenants of Catholicism, the efforts of the Protestant reformation setting standards on people though force, sharia law and the list goes on…human efforts, in the end very useless when we approach serious adversity in life. I have learned this through life experience

Since we both agree that the simplest answer tends to be the right one…this offensive gospel is sharper than any two edged sword…..so here is the irony of this whole deal:

The Cross: The Irony of God’s Wisdom

I have a serious concern to bring up with you, my friends, using the authority of Jesus, our Master. I’ll put it as urgently as I can: You must get along with each other. You must learn to be considerate of one another, cultivating a life in common.

I bring this up because some from Chloe’s family brought a most disturbing report to my attention—that you’re fighting among yourselves! I’ll tell you exactly what I was told: You’re all picking sides, going around saying, “I’m on Paul’s side,” or “I’m for Apollos,” or “Peter is my man,” or “I’m in the Messiah group.”

I ask you, “Has the Messiah been chopped up in little pieces so we can each have a relic all our own? Was Paul crucified for you? Was a single one of you baptized in Paul’s name?” I was not involved with any of your baptisms—except for Crispus and Gaius—and on getting this report, I’m sure glad I wasn’t. At least no one can go around saying he was baptized in my name. (Come to think of it, I also baptized Stephanas’s family, but as far as I can recall, that’s it.)

God didn’t send me out to collect a following for myself, but to preach the Message of what he has done, collecting a following for him. And he didn’t send me to do it with a lot of fancy rhetoric of my own, lest the powerful action at the center—Christ on the Cross—be trivialized into mere words.

The Message that points to Christ on the Cross seems like sheer silliness to those hellbent on destruction, but for those on the way of salvation it makes perfect sense. This is the way God works, and most powerfully as it turns out. It’s written,

I’ll turn conventional wisdom on its head,
I’ll expose so-called experts as crackpots.

So where can you find someone truly wise, truly educated, truly intelligent in this day and age? Hasn’t God exposed it all as pretentious nonsense? Since the world in all its fancy wisdom never had a clue when it came to knowing God, God in his wisdom took delight in using what the world considered dumb—preaching, of all things!—to bring those who trust him into the way of salvation.

While Jews clamor for miraculous demonstrations and Greeks go in for philosophical wisdom, we go right on proclaiming Christ, the Crucified. Jews treat this like an anti-miracle—and Greeks pass it off as absurd. But to us who are personally called by God himself—both Jews and Greeks—Christ is God’s ultimate miracle and wisdom all wrapped up in one. Human wisdom is so tinny, so impotent, next to the seeming absurdity of God. Human strength can’t begin to compete with God’s “weakness.”

Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don’t see many of “the brightest and the best” among you, not many influential, not many from high-society families. Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these “nobodies” to expose the hollow pretensions of the “somebodies”? That makes it quite clear that none of you can get by with blowing your own horn before God. Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ. That’s why we have the saying, “If you’re going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God.”
– 1 Corinthians 1:10-31 The Message

I found an article referencing J.P. Moreland (someone I had heard in a weekend study course) I had taken in 2005 and posted it. Michael was being pretty disrespectful here and it “shut him up” but  I realized that shutting you guys up was not going to get you to the knowledge of the truth. For that son, I am sorry. This lead me to try and answer your question by searching out more on particle physics and lead me to a trip to India that would define the supernatural…ask me about this!

From your perspective I abandoned you. I lived in great regret for many years and even at this time, I could not see a way through human terms to put together a way to restore what was lost….God would have to guide my steps to accomplish a real and lasting connection, one that no one or nothing could break. Believe me, I have surrounded myself with negative religious people who had no clear answers and who’s life shows a serious inability to connect with their own kids and “others in the world” (christianeeze escape from responsibility).

I suggest distancing from these church people and find those who have evidence of a two way life giving relationship with their creator, accessed with surrender to Jesus and nurtured by the Holy Spirit.

Not perfect people but those who have the courage to GET REAL!

December 2010 was a hard Christmas for us, and I had created Voice of Truth TV and a blog about my life for you and your sisters for a Christmas present, it’s the best I could do…I was broke and pretty sick. if you remember I didn’t see you, Michelle or Laura for Christmas and it was really hard. The last post I did on that blog Christmas morning was a sermon called “The Mary Miracle” and a song from Lez Miserables “Bring him home” and it was really my heart cry for our relationship to be restored:

“Bring Him Home” is a song from the popular Broadway musical a Les Misérables, which is performed by the main character, Jean Valjean. In the musical, Valjean pleads to God to preserve the life of another man. The television show 20/20 did a video interview on the writing of “Bring Him Home” in which the narrator said, “One of the most emotionally powerful moments in the show is a prayer Vajean sings offering his life to God in exchange for the younger man’s life.”

The song has become an anthem for people around the world and helps provide comfort for those in need. Many have adopted the song as a personal prayer for their loved ones who serve in the armed forces, missions, or are otherwise apart from their families.

God on high, hear my prayer
In my need, you have always been there
He is young, he’s afraid
Let him rest, heaven blessed

Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home

He’s like the son I might have known
If God had granted me a son
The summers die, one by one
How soon they fly, on and on
And I am old and will be gone

Bring him peace, bring him joy
He is young, he is only a boy
You can take, you can give
Let him be, let him live
If I die, let me die
Let him live

Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home

You have seen me in the hospital that night when they told you my death was imminent  and then again  you faced “doctors saying I was going to die” with my second heart surgery and car crash, YIKES, that must have been hard for you.

It’s been quite a journey from that Facebook post on April 1st, 2010 (April fools day) and the last comment by Michael on Facebook, and God has brought me from a place of confusion and searching,  to the knowledge that love is the answer and that is the true message of the bible, a heavenly father who lost relationship with his children (all of humanity) set out to restore a relationship with his kids who don’t know who he is.

God is a triune being three PERSONS all separate and co-equal while remaining separate and one at the same time (don’t try to get your head around that!.)   This is all about passion and when we surrender we fall in the deepest love with our creator.

It’s simple, in the story of the garden of eden, God only instructed Adam and Eve to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He said to eat from the tree of life!

The darkside said in effect that God is withholding good things from you and if you go against what God has said you will be like him…..

Since we were created to become what we worship you’ll see man trying to construct some way to work your way into  a restored relationship with his creator. That is religion, trying to do something in our power to build a tower or ladder to an unknowable distant and frustrated impatient pissed off father.

That son, is the answer to your question that religion for religions sake is dead, so yes i think the whole world has been tired of TALKING about religion…….

After living my life I know talk is cheap, I’m only interested in what results come from running the “code” of belief through this organic computer through lived out actions.

We can only jude the value of our “coding” by the results as we face adbversity…and I think after looking over how 90% of the world lives we will agree we here in the west have very little true adversity…in our case it’s mostly feelings and illusions…we have more than enough to eat, an excess of opportunity so please join me a we re-focus ourselves on gratitude and thanksgiving!

From my deepest innermost being I will guarantee that once you have tasted and seen that God is good, and understand that our access to our perfect father is Jesus, who died for our sins. Through simple faith in him we have access to a restored two way relationship beyond our understanding right here and right now…and the assurance of eternal life and to be shielded from all this we see in our world once again…….

Look, I’ve done allot of things that I regret but the one thing I have never done (to the best of my memory) is tell you your a loser and shame you for missing the mark and stumbling in life. That was done to me and I hope that the environment I intelligently create that in my own small way is one where you FEEL SAFE and are heard and understood.

What a blessing that we enjoy a such a close relationship and I’m looking forward to years of getting to know who you really are. I promise to be transparent about my own struggles so you can see how God can take ANY SITUATION and leverage it from his Glory and crazy as it might seem we can share it with him here and now and for all eternity!

I can’t wait to know more about your friend Michael and you’ll see here my small attempt to to point you and others to focus ON LIFE!

I love You,

Dad
