SENSE OF FLYING (or) DYING?

What´s it like flying down a mountain at 250 km/h? Espen Fadnes – The World’s Fastest Flying Human Being 2010 – teamed up with Project Managers Goovinn to communicate the experience of flying. this video called ”SENSE OF FLYING” came out of the collaboration.

Are these guys nuts, maybe a little suicidal, or perhaps not the sharpest crayons in the box??

Actually no, if you look at the planning and precision that goes into this, it’s surly not suicidal but a finely controlled, ballet of life, energy, human will and drive to live and experience.

OH COME ON we all want to fly…..

History of Wingsuits

Wings were initial made use of by 19-year-old American Rex G. Finney of Los Angeles, California in 1930 as an attempt to improve straight activity and maneuverability. These very early wingsuits were made of products such as canvas, wood, silk, steel, and even whale bone. The wingsuit was showcased in the 1969 flick The Gypsy Moths starring Burt Lancaster and Gene Hackman.

In 1997 Sammy Popov (Bulgarian) made and developed his own wingsuit which had larger wing between the legs and longer wings on the arms. Popov’s wingsuit initially flew in October 1998 over Jean NV and it is still flying today, but it never ever went in to commercial manufacturing. His stiff wings were able to keep their shape in trip, nevertheless this made the wingsuit larger and more difficult to fly.

It’s amazing what the human beings can develop when we put our minds to something..

What I most love about this is that you can experience some of the intensify of this as the helmet cam shots are amazing..the sounds this makes while flying overhead will blow you way.

For me, it’s about that first step off the cliff…. I think once you do that that your totally committed and focused, if not your ain’t gonna make it through…

Makes me realize that we are ALL IN on this ballet of life, with each day a gift and none-knows the outcome, but through facing whatever fears we have and logically making plans, with the ability to ‘adjust our wings” in the moment, we can navigate down these mountains of life and make the ride something pretty spectacular.

It all begins with asking guidance before taking that leap of the edge.

It doesn’t take jumping off a cliff to really feel alive….in fact, by living in gratitude and contentment, considering the treasures we already possess, can contain as potent a fire as cheating death with a pair of nylon wings..

Still, the guys are my hero’s!…. watch this in full screen if you can!
